Recursive Ink, the maker of Sundown¹, is a privacy-conscious company focused on making delightful apps. We are not in the business of collecting information about you.

Sundown stores some personal details on device, such as your location and the events you create. This data never leaves your device, and the app does not collect, transmit, or store any other personal information about you. Sundown can access your precise location, but only when you choose to share it, and this data is used solely for the purpose of calculating sunrise and sunset times. The app also includes an embedded database of cities to help you find your nearest location. All location searches are performed entirely on your device.

We may occasionally collect anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the app. This may include information about app performance, general usage patterns, and crash reports. All data collected in this way is anonymized and never linked to you personally. Additionally, the Apple App Store provides us with aggregated and anonymized statistics about downloads, sales, and general app performance. This data is used solely to enhance your experience with Sundown.

When you visit our website, we may temporarily store basic technical information such as your IP address in server logs. This information is kept in memory for diagnostic purposes and is not linked to your identity. We do not currently use cookies, but we may do so in the future for the purpose of collecting anonymous usage statistics, which will be outlined here if implemented.

As we do not collect personal data via the Sundown app, no personal information is stored on our servers. However, if we begin collecting personal data in the future, we will implement appropriate security measures to protect your information. Any future data collection will be done in compliance with applicable laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) of the European Union, the Data Protection Act (DPA) of the United Kingdom, the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), and other relevant privacy regulations.

In line with these laws, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the rights of consent, access, correction, erasure, and objection. Although these rights do not currently apply to your use of the Sundown app (since no personal data is collected), they may apply to any emails or direct communications you send to us. By contacting us, you expressly consent to the processing and storing of such information, including your email address, which may be processed in jurisdictions outside of your own.

We may update this Privacy Policy in the future. A summary of updates will be posted at the bottom of this page, and it is your responsibility to review this policy periodically for updates. We will also provide reasonable notice before implementing any major changes that affect how we handle your data.

This privacy policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
